Germán Martitegui es uno de los jurados de Masterchef Celebrity y los participantes lo tienen como el “malo†del reality. Alejandro Fantino en su programa en ESPN recordó un episodio que tuvo al chef como protagonista hace algunos años.
“Martitegui tenÃa ratas en el restaurante. TenÃa unos carpinchos asà (señaló con las dos manos un animal de gran volumen)â€, lanzó el conductor. En ese momento intervino José Chatruc, un ex futbolista devenido en comentarista y en integrante de paneles televisivos, para explicar que no era de él el lugar sino que “lo habÃa pasado de manosâ€.
La discusión se produjo en medio de un programa deportivo en el que tanto el conductor como sus panelistas cuentan anécdotas y experiencias de vida. La mayorÃa de ellas son curiosas y risueñas pero otras, como ésta, resultan un tanto polémicas o, cuanto menos, controversiales.
Mientras discutÃan de goles, sistemas estratégicos y debatÃan el futuro de la Copa Libertadores de América, que la emisora transmite desde este año, Fantino y sus compañeros se pusieron a hablar de Masterchef Celebrity, el ciclo más exitoso en lo que va de la televisión 2020. Fue allà que el santafesino recordó aquel hecho escandaloso con su estilo histriónico y a veces irónico.
El hecho al que hizo referencia Fantino ocurrió a principios de diciembre de 2016 en el restaurante Olsen, creado por Martitegui y uno de los más recomendados y exclusivos en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires por aquella época. De inmediato se informó que el jurado más duro de Masterchef ya no era el dueño del restó, pero aún revistaba como uno de sus directores.
El periodista Pablo Duggan fue a comer al restaurant y se encontró con un lugar lleno de ratas. Indignado, hizo pública la situación y además se quejó por el alto costo de los platos que allà se servÃan. Para el actual conductor del noticiero vespertino de C5N, no se correspondÃa el valor cobrado con el servicio que se brindaba.
En medio del escándalo y la conmoción que se habÃa generado, el propio Martitegui salió a pedirle disculpas y a reconocer lo que habÃa sucedido: “Germán me llamó. Me pidió disculpas por lo que pasó y me confirmó que tienen un problema con las ratas. Según afirmó, todo se debe a un contenedor de basura que hay en la puerta de Olsenâ€, contó Duggan en ese entonces.
En la actualidad, Martitegui tiene a su cargo otro restaurante de su autorÃa, Tegui, considerado por los sitios especializados en comida como el mejor del paÃs y uno de los 25 mejores de América Latina. La pandemia, además, frenó la apertura de la que iba a ser su más revolucionaria creación, Marti, donde comensales y cocineros iban a estar prácticamente “cara a caraâ€. Se desconoce, aún, qué será de su destino cuando pase el Covid y se vuelva a la “vieja normalidadâ€.
