Lacalle Pou insiste con la flexibilizaci贸n del Mercosur

Luego de un cruce con Alberto Fern谩ndez, el presidente de Uruguay Luis Lacalle Pou asegur贸 que la flexibilizaci贸n de Mercosur es para “el bien de todos”.

Despu茅s de un聽fuerte contrapunto con el presidente Alberto聽Fern谩ndez聽durante la cumbre del 煤ltimo viernes del聽Mercosur,聽el jefe de Estado uruguayo, Luis聽Lacalle Pou,聽volvi贸 este lunes a defender la flexibilizaci贸n dentro del bloque para avanzar en negociaciones comerciales bilaterales y asegur贸 que es para “el bien de todos”.

“No hay uno contra otro, al rev茅s, es el bien de todos. Si alguno cree que no es para su bien, que nos aflojen un poco la piola, que se flexibilice el Mercosur”, asegur贸 el mandatario oriental tras darse la primera dosis de la vacuna contra el coronavirus.

Lacalle Pou聽no mencion贸 a ninguno de los socios del Mercosur en particular, pero la referencia al cruce con聽Fern谩ndez聽fue evidente ya que repiti贸 una de las palabras que m谩s irrit贸 el viernes a su par argentino: “lastre”.

“Tenemos vocaci贸n de integraci贸n regional. Tenemos vocaci贸n de que el Mercosur sea un trampol铆n y no un corset o un lastre”, insisti贸 el uruguayo ante la prensa que lo esperaba fuera del hospital de Montevideo donde se vacun贸.

“Somos la quinta regi贸n m谩s proteccionista del mundo. Y miramos y tenemos los monstruos asi谩ticos generando m谩s mercados, consumiendo lo que se produce, no en Uruguay, 隆en la regi贸n! Entonces parece l贸gico que para el progreso de nuestros pueblos, para que haya trabajo, nos abramos al mundo”, argument贸.

Adem谩s de insistir con su pedido de flexibilizaci贸n del principal bloque comercial del Cono Sur,聽Lacalle Pou聽revel贸 que la cumbre virtual del viernes pasado -en la que Argentina, Uruguay, Brasil y Paraguay celebraron el 30 aniversario de la organizaci贸n regional- no termin贸 con una declaraci贸n conjunta porque no hubo acuerdo sobre la cuesti贸n de abrirse a acuerdos comerciales bilaterales, como piden todos los socios, excepto la Casa Rosada.

“No hubo una declaraci贸n del聽Mercosur聽porque Uruguay insist铆a que ten铆a que estar en el p谩rrafo 12 el tema de la flexibilizaci贸n. Y como no se accedi贸 a eso, alg煤n otro pa铆s dijo ‘si no va ese p谩rrafo, no hay declaraci贸n”, cont贸 el mandatario.

Este punto hace tiempo que divide a los socios, aunque las alianzas internas alrededor de este tema han cambiado seg煤n los Gobiernos de turno de cada uno de los pa铆ses.

“Si nos hemos convertido en una carga, lo lamento. No quer铆amos ser una carga para nadie. Terminemos con esas ideas que ayudan tan poco a la unidad. No queremos ser lastre de nadie. Si somos un lastre, que tomen otro barco. No somos lastre de nadie, es un honor ser parte del Mercosur”, hab铆a se帽alado Fern谩ndez el viernes en respuesta a los dichos de su par uruguayo.
